Up Late With Alec Baldwin was put on a two week suspension
Alec Baldwin Threatens To Quit Showbiz, Says MSNBC’s ‘Up Late’ Might Not Return After Suspension
By JEN YAMATO | Saturday November 16, 2013 @ 11:15am PSTTags: Alec Baldwin, MSNBC, Up Late with Alec Baldwin
A day after his MSNBC show Up Late With Alec Baldwin was put on a two week suspension,Alec Baldwin revealed on his blog that the long-term fate of the show is up in the air. “Whether the show comes back at all is at issue right now,” he wrote Saturday morning. “My producers and I had a very enlightening and well-researched program prepared to air on November 22nd itself, dealing with John Kennedy’s assassination. That show is off the air now.” Baldwin released an apology Friday for the alleged anti-gay remarks to a photographer that led to the MSNBC suspension, but in his lengthier blog post denied uttering any slur during the taped incident. “I can assure you, with complete confidence, that a direct homophobic slur (or indirect one for that matter) is not spoken,” he wrote.
Up Late premiered last month to up-and-down ratings in the Friday 10 PM slot and was still finding its footing when the hammer dropped yesterday. Baldwin’s blog post suggests it may not return at all even after the current two-week suspension. “[If] the show dies, its fate ends up being no different than the vast majority of start-up TV programming, and so be it. We do take a small amount of pride in knowing that we beat CNN in the ratings each of our nights. (I forget who they had on at that time),” he wrote.
The award-winning actor also hinted that he may quit the entertainment industry altogether following this week’s episode, the latest row in a string of highly publicized paparazzi run-ins Baldwin blames on a celeb-obsessed America. “If quitting the television business, the movie business, the theatre, any component of entertainment, is necessary in order to bring safety and peace to my family, then that is an easy decision,” he wrote. “This country’s obsession with the private lives of famous people is tragic. It’s tragic in the sense that it is so clearly a projection of people’s frustration about their government, their economy, their own spiritual bankruptcy. You have no voice in Washington. In Washington, or in any statehouse, no one actually cares what you think. So you post online, you vote with a Roman-esque thumbs up or down on the celebrity debacle of the day. That is your right. It’s also fatal misdirection of your voice and need to judge. Occupy Wall Street, on their worst day, had more integrity than the comments page of a website ever will.”

Mariah Carey "Hated" American Idol: "It Was Like Going to Work Every Day in Hell With Satan"
Mariah Carey could not be happier to put American Idol behind her. The "Art of Letting Go" singer -- who served one season as a judge on the Fox musical competition, alongside Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson, and Keith Urban -- had some choice words about the show during an interview with Hot 97's Angie Martinez on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
PHOTOS: The biggest celeb feuds ever
"Honestly, I hated it," she confessed. "Here's what it was. I was the first person who signed on...I thought it was going to be a three-person panel. They gave me a nice...monetary moment, and I was just like, 'Okay, Randy Jackson will be there; I've known him forever. He used to play bass for me. Like, this isn't a big deal. This will be nothing.'"
"But it wasn't that," she continued. "It was like going to work every day in hell with Satan."
Carey didn't specify which of her fellow judges might be the devil, but it's no secret that she clashed with Minaj throughout the season. The two got into several very heated debates during the audition process and occasionally took their feud online. In May, the "Roman Holiday" rapper bashed the Grammy-winning singer as "insecure" and "bitter" on Twitter.

There was one bright spot in Carey's Idol experience, though. "You know what I loved? I loved the contestants," she told Martinez. "And some of them that were so good -- and also really good people, you could tell -- it was disappointing when [the judges] would, for political reasons, not put people through."
The mom of two added that she's happy to be back where she belongs -- in the studio. Neither she nor Minaj will return to American Idol for season 15.

Mike Archer
Mike Archer is a solo artist from Indianapolis, Indiana, but currently resides in Danville, KY. His dreams of playing professionally in the NBA morphed into that of a music “star”. The music industry took him out of his hometown, but his hometown never left him. As he performs all over the United States and Caribbean, he thinks of family and friends every single day. Success always dedicated to his mother, Jan Archer, and her unwavering support throughout.
Mike wasn’t always a solo act. In the beginning he tried putting a few bands together but personalities always seemed to get in the way. He found it less complicated to bring in musicians, when needed, who understand his style and sound. Musicians who could represent Mike Archer’s music as it should be played. He is a versatile and adventurous musician always looking for an edge, delivering a refreshing new sound with each song he sings.
On his second album release, “Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda”, his lead single “Sharp Dressed Man” is a prime example of putting his ‘spin’ on a song. Originally recorded by ZZ Top as a hard rockin’, iconic song, Mike put a country twist to it while still respecting its classic sound. This song is now a rockin’ country tune that makes you want to get up and dance. His new rendition is refreshing and as fun to rock to as the original.
“Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda” is a CD which represents the versatility of the artist himself. From rock to country to ballads, Mike keeps his music fresh and fun which keeps his audience on their toes and loving his music.
Mike Archer’s prior release was an independent CD titled “The Next Best Thing”. He just completed an eight month tour on Disney Cruise Lines. Playing four hours a day, six days a week for eight months will no doubt give you the time to grow your sound. Mike has opened for Jimmy Buffet, George Strait, BJ Thomas, Billy Joe Royal and Daryle Singletary . He has also played on the RJ Corman Dinner Train for the Kentucky Derby four years in a row and continues to perform on the Disney Cruise Line.
Mike Archer has done whatever he could to make his dream a reality. Music is his world and he does whatever he can to make this happen. One message that he hopes his fans recognize is to never give up on your dreams no matter what resistance life throws at you or direction life takes you in, you will keep swaying towards what is in your heart and soul.
