ChevyGurl

Vanisha Davis (a.k.a.) ChevyGurl was born to Rachael & Vincent Davis on December 21, 1994 in Saint. Petersburg, Florida.

ChevyGurl is a graduate of ECOT - Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow which is a community/charter high school based in Cleveland, Ohio. ChevyGurl graduated in 2012 one year earlier than her graduating class of 2013 and was inducted into the National Honor Society.

ChevyGurl had developed an interest for music at the tender age of 6 when she was in and out of recording studio with her dad who is also a record label executive and a former D. J.

By the tender age of eleven, ChevyGurl was rapping in her local middle school talent shows in the State of Florida, and around her neighborhood for family and friends. By the age of 15 ChevyGurl was recording her own little mix tape for family, friends and members of her neighborhood, and she posted a few of her songs on you-tube with some of her recording buddies.

ChevyGurl is now residing in the State of Florida, but prior to that she was attending Campbellsville University which is located in Campbellsville, Kentucky and she major in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology and again she graduated a year ahead of schedule once again.

ChevyGurl is ready to take the music seen by storm even though she has not put a genre on her style. She states she will let the world name her style for her which has a hip hop/R&B flavor with a strong Pop feel which makes her sound enjoyable for all ages.

ChevyGurl says this has been a lifelong dream to become a Hip Hop, R&B, Pop Star, and she understands that it want happen overnight but she has nothing but time on her hand.

ChevyGurl also writes, and is starting to taste a little of the production side as well, This No Genre artist has more than just a southern rap style with a hip hop groove from her sassy punch lines to her smooth clean rap lyrics. ChevyGurl is dubbing herself as the new female sound of Florida’s Dirty South.

While one may be tempted to dismiss ChevyGurl as just another addition to the already crowed scene of female rappers, but take note: ChevyGurl smooth rap style is anything, but more of the status quo. ChevyGurl has the right combination of classiness, smoothness, and drive with a lady like substance for good taste.

StarMedia Radio Artist Add-Ons for January 2017

StarMedia Radio Artist Add-Ons for January 2017

Glancy Kelly

Glancy Kelly began laying the foundations for his music career as a young child bouncing around foster care homes. Without a stable family and, oftentimes, food and power, Glancy would fill his days by writing songs. His introspective early years are evident in his powerful, profound lyrics.

His music stands out for its lack of fluff — Glancy’s goal is not to put out song after song, but to shape worthy messages and reflections into songs.

Glancy didn’t grow up listening to Marvin Gaye and Luther Vandross and the conventional godfathers of R&B. As a foster kid relying on himself for many aspects of his upbringing, his love for R&B and hip-hop was sparked by the radio hits of his contemporaries.

His up-tempo, evocative beats and flows are reminiscent of Trey Songz, Omarion, Mario Barrett, and other hit-makers of the 1990s and 2000s. In drawing inspiration from them, Glancy is creating songs in the language that his generation naturally relates to.

As he honed his voice and nurtured his songwriting career, Glancy cut his teeth by auditioning for American Idol. While he consistently received praise from the producers, he never moved past the non-televised portion of the contest. It was a wake-up call for singer-songwriter: with ideas and content that break the conventional mold of “filler” lyrics, he would have to make his own dreams come true.

Two years ago, he released his first single, “Hold On To Me” via digital platforms. The positive response was overwhelming. For an unsigned artist, Glancy’s plays and followers on websites such as Soundcloud exploded.

Heavy-hitters in the music industry began to take notice. Glancy is currently working on his first EP, aptly titled “Now or Never”, to be released in the fall. With the stamina and following he’s built around his career, he’s excited and ready to pour all of his efforts and talents into creating a product that truly represents his artistry.

Songs:
Toss Him Aside

Formed in Binghamton, New York, in February, 2010, Poetically Contagious started out as a performance group (with members “J-1,2” and “Captain”); with shows at Binghamton University, and Alfred University, to name a few, before transcending, from the stage to the studio – recording the songs “Inspired into Stardom,” “1st Date (Relax its ok),” “So, so, attractive” and “What I wanna be.”

These songs, led to Poetically Contagious being finalist in a “Recording and Performance” contest in NYC (March 2011).  That exposure led to Poetically Contagious forming a record label – Poetically Contagious Records.

With growing popularity, a National Entertainment magazine (MAMI Magazine) took notice, and requested an interview, and photo shoot, for their Summer 2011 issue of MAMI Magazine.  This, interview, led to more song-play in clubs, especially with the song “1st Date (Relax its ok),” which led to MAMI Magazine requesting (asking) to use (feature) the lyrics from the song in their Fall 2011 issue.  Music video directors begin to take notice, and when approached by the label, in 2012, Edward Mendoza, from Los Angeles, California, was very excited to shoot Poetically Contagious Record’s first major music video, and flew out to New York, to shoot “Time to get that Cash.”

When this video was released in Fall 2012, radio stations all across the U.S. begin to take notice, and asked the label to do a remix to the song.  “Time to get that Cash (Remix),” was released in June 2013, along with the rerelease of the music video.

The song made it to the “Top 200 National Radio Charts,” peaking at number 187.  Poetically Contagious has been working hard in the studio ever since (bringing into the label artist such as “Lil Dice,” and “Shardkeith,” and working with producers such as “Tony the Maestro” “Beatslocker.com,” and “Nine Diamond”), to put together a great album for old and new fans alike…
