Electronic Avant-Pop Artist Daiza Releases Ethereal Single “Hands”

Los Angeles, CA (September 7th, 2019) Daiza has released “Hands”, the latest in a string of singles that the electronic avant-pop artist has put out over the last few years. The hazy and laidback song, which bears a likeness to the styles of FKA Twigs and Grimes, is the perfect soundtrack to round out the end of summer.

“Hands” fuses a variety of sonic elements from genres that inspire Daiza (Danielle Thwaites), who produces and writes the majority of her music on her own. Her sultry vocals are immediately alluring, with an airy delivery that deftly treads the boundary between pop and ambient. Washed out guitar plucks inject the song with an organic, evocative quality, a signature of Daiza’s music. Electronic programmed drums add an intimate and cavernous quality to the track dubbed with a splashy acoustic kit towards the end, while co-writer Michael Martinez’s featured vocals lend additional depth to the arrangement.

“Hands is about the desire for that first intimate moment with someone, when you release control and trust their touch as it elevates you,” explains Daiza. “On the other hand, that lustful moment can quickly determine a relationship’s fate, or lack thereof. ‘Hands’ juggles that outcome.”

With her new single, Daiza has solidified her style, which showcases an inherent balance between aggression and tenderness. Characterized by her strong, independent attitude combined with the fragile intensity of her emotions, her writing creates a unique and personal perspective that further complements her production choices. Daiza’s full scale live shows, which often feature the talent performing solo while switching effortlessly between vocals, guitar, bass, drum pads, and sample triggers, are a testament to her production prowess: she previously played Electric Forest 2018 as Madame Gandhi’s DJ and Ableton Tech, and also served as Imogen Heap’s audio tech, Ableton Live tech, and assistant engineer on her 2019 North American Tour.
